Melissa Good is a private chef who has been offering her
services to clients since 2003. Originally from South Florida,
she attended culinary school at the Florida Culinary Institute
in West Palm Beach. After graduation, she worked in many
restaurants while pursuing her other interest, weight
training. After a few years of cooking, training and
competing, Melissa realized that her attitude towards food
had changed. She wanted to help others lead a healthier
lifestyle and realized she could do this by providing them
with the tools the needed most - food!
As more and more people turned to her for not only meals
but for advice, she decided to go back to school, in order to
earn her Bachelors in Nutrition. This decision brought her to
Austin, Texas and also brought her in contact with Radhia
Gleis, Certified Clinical Nutritionist, M.Ed. in Nutrition, at the
Advanced Health Institute. She began working with Dr.
Gleis (now with Austin Integrative Medicine) and her clients
by providing them with meals based on the Ultra Lite diet
program Dr. Gleis administered to her clients. Melissa is
currently working towards a Bacheors degree in Nutrition at
Texas State University.
Once in Austin, Melissa found that not only knowing what to
eat was important, knowing what NOT to eat was just as
crucial. She began offering organic items and made sure
that all of the meats she provided were free of hormones
and antibiotics.
By the end of 2007, Melissa changed the name of the
company to Good Eating. She is now providing fresh "fast
food" to clients all over Austin. Her clients range from home
makers to corporate executives to health care workers. She
truly enjoys what she's doing and is always looking to help
new clients achieve and maintain healthy, active lifestyles by
providing them with the meals they need to do it!
About the Chef
I regularly attend the local farmers markets
and farms to secure my supplies. I created
Good Eating in order to provide my clients
with the freshest organic and locally grown
produce and hormone free meats possible.
It is through this that I feel that I am
providing my clients with what is most
important to them - fresh fast food you can
trust!
Thanks,
Melissa
