Frequently Asked Questions
How is Good Eating different from any of the other meal delivery services I've seen?
While there are many private chefs and delivery services in Austin, Good Eating is the first and only to
focus on bringing you Nutritionally Balanced, Organic & Locally Grown ingredients!  All of our meals are
individually portioned to ensure you get the right amount of calories.  We use only whole grains. We
use the freshest vegetables possible, many coming from soil within a 50-mile radius of Austin.  All our
meats are hormone free and are seafood is organically raised or wild line caught.

Do I need to sign a contract?
No.  Good Eating was created to help relieve the stress of trying to eat right on a hectic schedule.  We
know that you are busy and that your schedule changes often.  Feel free to order meals whenever you
need them.  However, don't be surprised that when you find out how great you feel after eating right
on a regular basis, you need us more and more!

When do you deliver?
Good Eating delivers meals every Monday and Thursday, except for major holidays.  Advance notice of
at least two weeks is given when any changes are made to the delivery schedule.

When will MY meals be delivered?
Delivery times and location will be determined with your first order.  After we receive your order, we will
contact you to set up your delivery.  On the day of your delivery, a window of two hours is generally
given to allow for traffic or other hold ups.  If you need to change your delivery time or location, just
contact us by 10:00 am before your scheduled delivery to make arrangements.

Is there a delivery fee?
Yes. Unfortunately, due to ever increasing costs of fuel we charge a small delivery fee based on
location.  Fees are based on your “in town” or “out of town” status.  For delivery purposes, we use the
major highways of Austin, Hwy 183 to the north, I-35 to the east, Ben White to the south and Mopac
to the west.  Any delivery located within this border is considered “in town” and anything outside of
them is considered “out of town”.

Though you may be invoiced for more than one delivery at a time, fees are assessed per delivery and
will be billed accordingly.  However, the fees can be waived by meeting minimum amounts or by
delivering to more than one person per delivery location.

    Waived Delivery Fees
Deliveries to multiple clients at a single location will receive a reduced or completely waived delivery fee.

  • If two people receive a meal delivery at a single location, their order will be treated as one for
delivery fee purchases and will be split between clients.
  • If two people receive a meal delivery at a single location and their combined total exceeds the
minimum for delivery, the fee will be waived.
  • If three or more people order meals at a single location, the delivery fee will be waived regardless
of the individual or combined total.  Also, they will not be required to meet the minimum order of
four meals or $35 per person, per delivery.

Do I need to be there when you deliver?
No. Good Eating offers many different options for delivery and payment.  If you pre-pay or pay with
Paypal, you do not need to be present for your delivery.  If you are paying by cash or check, you still
may not be required to be there for your delivery.  Please contact us for further options for delivery.

I won't be home for any of the available delivery times; can you deliver to my work?
Yes. Good Eating can deliver to any location you choose.  If you would rather have delivery to a
location other than your home just make sure that you will have proper refrigeration available to keep
your meals at a safe temperature.

Can you ship meals?
No.  At this time Good Eating is unable to ship meals, but we may add this feature in the future.
Please keep checking back for updates.

What is your cancellation policy?
Good Eating will always try to work with you if you think you may need to cancel due to delivery
complications.  If an alternate delivery cannot be made, Good Eating can accept cancellations with a full
refund if made and confirmed no less than 48 hours prior to delivery. Cancellations made less than 48
hours prior to delivery may receive a credit based on an individual assessment.

Are there any start up costs?
Good Eating uses a reusable container for all of its meals.  The cost of these containers are $1 each.
These containers are yours to keep whenever you decide to discontinue ordering meals. Each container
is labeled with the clients name so that only you will be using that container.  These containers are
microwave and dishwasher (top rack only) safe.  The reusable containers help to cut down on the cost
of each meal and are better for the environment than disposable containers.  You will be charged for
your first set of containers on your first delivery and your second set on the next delivery.  The
number of containers you receive is based on the number of meals you order.  Containers will be
traded out on each delivery.  When you receive your new meals, Good Eating will pick up your clean
and dried containers from the previous delivery.

What if I forget my containers?
If you forget your containers or if the containers are not returned clean and dry, you will be charged
for however many replacement containers are needed for your next order.  If at any time you order
more meals than normal, resulting in a need for extra containers, you will simply be charged for an
additional container.  Replacement containers are the same price as the original containers ($1).

How do I order meals?
Each week, a new menu will be delivered to your email box.  Simply respond to that email with your
choices.  Be sure to tell us how many of each item you would like and include protein choices (if the
option is given).  Also, do not forget to include any menu changes you may request.

I have food allergies.  Can I request changes to the menu to accommodate them?
Yes.  Good Eating requests that you tell us about any food allergies you may have.  We always strive
to provide you with a meal you find appetizing and if there is something you would like to change on
the menu, just let us know.  If we can accommodate you, we certainly will.  If we cannot, we will work
with you on preparing other menu choices to serve your needs.
***Please note that our meals are prepared in a facility that may come into contact with tree nuts, soy, milk
    and shellfish.

What type of items can I find on the menu?
Most meals are based on a protein such as chicken or fish and each menu will contain a low fat beef or
pork option.  Options range from soup and salad to casserole type items.  The a la carte menu was
designed to supplement items you may already have in the fridge or can allow you to build your own
meal.  Sugar free desserts are available for any delivery as well.

I see some numbers and letters after some of the menu items.  What are they for?
The number letter combination found after some of the menu items (1P/4C) is for Ulta Lite clients
only.  If you are not an Ultra Lite client affiliated with Dr. Gleis, then you may disregard them.  Ultra Lite
clients use them to keep track of their protein and carbohydrates, though the numbers shown do not
reflect the actual amounts of protein and carbohydrates in the meal.

Can I give meals to someone as a Gift?
Absolutely.  Prepared meals make an excellent gift to new parents, to those recovering from injuries or
for anyone you care about.  Good Eating will send an email letting them know that you chose this
special service for them, a copy of the recent menu and instructions on how to order.  Alternatively,
you may pick and choose the meals for them and we can send them an email letting them know when
to expect a delivery.  Please contact us to make arrangements for this fabulous gift!

How long will my meals last?
Meals are prepared fresh on the day prior to delivery and contain no preservatives.  If held at safe
temperatures (under 40 F), your meals should last up to five days in the refrigerator.  Some items,
such as fish or salads are more perishable and you should anticipate eating these meals first.  Good
Eating delivers twice a week to ensure that you receive the freshest foods possible.  We advise all of
our clients to use good judgment when eating a meal more than three days old. If you have any
questions at all about the safety of your meal contact us before eating it.

How do I pay for my meals?
You may pay by credit or debit card or by e-check with Paypal and you do not need to have an account
with Paypal in order to pay this way.  Good Eating also accepts cash or check (made payable to Good
Eating).  We also provide a pre-payment arrangement for clients who do not want to be hassled with
writing a check for every delivery.  Please contact us for more information on this arrangement.

If I refer a friend, do I get a discount?
Absolutely.  Good Eating exists to please its clients.  We love nothing more than when you tell your
friends about us.  All referrals will net you a 10% discount off of your next order.  Just ask your friend
or co-worker to mention your name when ordering.  For a limited time – your referral will receive
50% off their purchase of reusable containers from their first order!!

Where do you prepare the meals?
Good Eating prepares all of your meals in a brand new commercial commissary kitchen located in
Austin.  It allows us to prepare and store your meals properly and safely.

What is the best way to reheat my meal?
All meals are delivered fully cooked to ensure you may eat your meals at home or on the go, as your
lifestyle requires.  The simplest way to reheat your meal is to pop it in the microwave with a tablespoon
of water for one to three minutes, depending on your microwave and your desired temperature.  Good
Eating recommends reheating fish and red meats in a preheated pan, oven or toaster oven because
microwaves tend to dry out these items, making them tough.  Your fish and red meat will be delivered
well seared and just above rare, so that you may reheat these to the temperature of your choosing.

I missed the deadline to order, can I still get my meals?
Good Eating strongly urges you to get your order in by the deadline.  This is the only way we can
guarantee to provide you with everything you request.  However, if you miss the deadline to order,
give us a call as soon as you realize you missed the deadline.  We do plan extras in case of emergency
and we can sometimes accommodate your order, though we cannot promise we will have everything
    available.

Ordering meals with Good Eating is very simple.  When you
receive your email with the latest menu, just respond to the
email with your choice of items and how many of each you would
like.
